Galle 2014

From the archives.

Aman and I decided to drive down to Galle to grab lunch and take in the sights.

Stick.No.Bills – It does get better upstairs

Stick No Bills is run by a lady named Meg who used to work for British Intelligence. She scours Sri Lanka finding old posters and reselling it to the niche collectors market. Some of her posters reach the walls of A-Listers.

Family heirloom.

A lot of the family homes in Galle are being renovated as boutique hotels and villas. It’s the apt thing to do as the income from a hotel in Galle Fort (if positioned, marketed and priced properly) is quite considerable.

Aman at Amangalla

Taking a break we have lunch at Amangalla. The food and service was superb. I went for a chicken based dish whilst Aman opted for an Australian steak. Food was top notch, bread basket was super cool and they keep refilling the iced water without has having to raise a hand.
